Remodeling of a traditional mansion
- Objective: Reviving an old mansion in a contemporary style
- Materials: cement tiles, lime
This project rests on a subtle alliance between the old and the new. The walls are adorned with wallpapers evoking the grandeur of the 17th century or the bold patterns of Pierre Frey, bringing elegance and character to the rooms. In a spirit of respect for traditional materials, lime plaster was chosen to enhance the surfaces and create a warm atmosphere throughout the residence. The original cement tiles, meticulously arranged on the walls, form unique patterns adding a note of nostalgia while blending harmoniously with the contemporary aesthetic.
The parquet flooring, creatively revisited, was painted in a checkerboard pattern, giving the floors a playful and resolutely modern look. This innovative approach to decoration marries the noble character of wood with the creativity of contemporary decor, offering a striking contrast between tradition and innovation.
Mindful of the needs of family life, this project also integrates spaces specially designed for conviviality and shared moments. Playful zones dedicated to leisure and games will delight young and old alike, fostering moments of closeness and happiness within the home.
This private mansion thus stands out as a unique architectural project, where history meets modernity, where the beauty of the past encounters the boldness of the present. It becomes a welcoming and elegant space, offering its occupants a life imbued with refinement and joie de vivre.
