This 94 m² apartment had been unoccupied for 30 years. It was stuck with wallpapers, carpet, and floral wall coverings typical of that era. The new owners wanted to completely renovate the apartment, highlighting the Haussmannian spirit of the space while adding more contemporary touches.
Originally, the apartment only had a small bathroom. To design a large bathroom, the interior designer partially moved the kitchen towards the entrance and glazed rooms. This bathroom is structured as a bold, black, and assertive volume.
Regarding the flooring, the carpet was removed from all rooms, and the original parquet was restored and lightened.
By taking molds, some moldings typical of Haussmannian apartments were renovated or extended. Others were entirely created, especially in reconfigured spaces, as well as wooden frames and picture rails, which did not exist in the apartment before the interior renovation work.
The windows were replaced in wood, preserving the original cremone bolts.
