Complete restructuring of a villa
Avec le client, l’architecte d’intérieur a voulu ajouter du charme et de l’authenticité à cette maison en réalisant un toit de chaume. C’est la bonne combinaison pour son côté naturel et ses qualités isolantes mais également pour le pool house, en bardage de lattis. Ce dernier a été créé dans la continuité de l'extension de la terrasse couverte. Celle-ci est, quant à elle, en brique sur chant qui lui apporte un charme élégant. Le paysagiste a revu le jardin afin d'ancrer la piscine à l'abri des regards.
Quant à l’intérieur, afin que le passage soit plus agréable dans la cuisine, le sens de la circulation a été changé en cassant 2 murs et en enlevant une ouverture de porte. La fenêtre a été remontée pour intégrer un plan de travail en dessous. Aujourd’hui, le bar est un espace où l'on se sent bien et permet de cacher le plan de travail encombré lors des repas. La crédence en mortex, le plan de travail en corian, les placards en mélaminé et le sol en gré-cérame.
À l’étage, nous avons ouvert la chambre principale afin d’y placer un dressing sur-mesure en chêne brossé. Certaines étagères sont ouvertes, les poignées intégrées et des leds encastrés dans les étagères apportent une belle lumière. Son couloir rend ce dressing intimiste. La salle de bain, la douche et le meuble lavabo sont en mortex. Ce matériau apporte un aspect reposant et aéré, il est appliqué sur les sols, les murs et les meubles sur-mesure. Un seul matériau de revêtement agrandi l'espace, de plus le mortex est très étanche et durable.
Together with the client, the interior architect wanted to add charm and authenticity to this house by creating a thatched roof. This was the right choice for its natural character and insulating qualities, as well as for the pool house, clad in lath boarding. The pool house was created as a natural extension of the covered terrace extension. The covered terrace itself features on-edge brickwork, giving it an elegant charm. The landscape architect redesigned the garden to ensure the swimming pool is sheltered from view.
As for the interior, in order to improve the flow through the kitchen, the circulation layout was changed by knocking down 2 walls and removing a doorway opening. The window was raised to allow a worktop to be fitted below. Today, the bar is a welcoming space that conceals the cluttered worktop during mealtimes. The mortex splashback, the Brazilian flame-finished black granite worktop, the laminate cupboards and the porcelain stoneware floor.
Upstairs, we opened up the master bedroom to accommodate a bespoke walk-in wardrobe in brushed oak. Some of the shelves are open, the handles are integrated, and LED lights recessed into the shelves provide beautiful illumination. Its corridor lends the dressing room an intimate feel. The bathroom, shower and vanity unit are finished in mortex. This material provides a restful, airy feel; it is applied to the floors, walls and bespoke furniture. A single cladding material enlarges the space, and mortex is also highly waterproof and durable.
